BHF Higher Education Program

This program is for graduated BHF orphans who wish to continue their education at the collegiate level.  Many of the graduated BH alumni are very talented youth with little opportunity to pursue higher education, this program creates high impact change for Lesotho.

Economic and Vocational Development

Lesotho is in desperate need of Economic Development and Vocational opportunities for the Basotho people.  Lasting change happens when the orphans and vulnerable youth are equipped with job skills, vocational training, and economic development support, so that they are able to become self-sustaining.  Seeds of Hope Sponsors truly have provided life changing opportunities for the Basotho vulnerable to make their own living and that is success beyond measure in Lesotho.

Steven is currently in Cape Town taking Cyber Security courses. He is passionate and driven when it comes to computer security programming. He came to Bountiful Hope as a young child who had been helping care for his disabled mom and his younger sister. As he got older, he was working in the sweatshop garment factories in Maseru for very low wages and he thought his dream of Cyber Security certification was gone. However, he secured a Seeds of Hope sponsor and now is on his chosen path.  Steven recently became certified as CompTIA Security+. A, another step towards his dream of working in the field of security.

Sello is fond of saying that when one is living life in their giftedness, everything blooms.

'Mapoule - Catering for Change

‘Mapoulo was teen mother who graduated from the Good Shepherd Centre Program. After some years of developing her love for catering, she provided BHF a formal proposal in which she was seeking “seed money” for a small-scale economic development opportunity to grow her catering and decorating business. Mapoulo’s proposal was approved and she had great success running her Catering For A Change Business since 2016. Her business has not only given her income but she is able to hire other vulnerable youth. For a woman to sustain herself financially is a tremendous victory in Lesotho. Mapoulo is an amazing role model for so many young women.

Francis - Bountiful Harvest Bakery

Francis (pictured on the left) became an orphan at a young age. He was one of BH first sponsored youth years ago. His passion as long as he can remember was business.  In 2017, Francis secured a sponsorship for seed money to start a bakery in Semonkong. He was able to secure a building close to town and was able to open Bountiful Harvest Bakery.

One of Francis’ accounts is providing food for the Semonkong Children’s Centre where some of the Bountiful Hope orphans live. This is a huge grace for all. Francis has faced various challenges, but like a good leader, he has never given up.  It is a very rare happening when an orphan gets the opportunity to start his own business in Lesotho, none of this would have been possible without the seed money from generous donors.

Albert - Dihlabeng Driving School

Seeds of Hope Sponsorship has provided Albert (pictured above on the right) an opportunity to further his Vocational passion of being a Truck Driver. He now is now enrolled at Dihlabeng Driving School.  Albert was one of the first sponsored BH orphans. His  parents died when he is young, now he has the opportunity to make a living for his new wife and his family. .
